Vineyard Wedding by Desert Rose Wedding Photography

In this blog post we are featuring a recent wedding we photographed at a vineyard.  The couple choose to have two photographers, one to start with the Bride and the other to start with the Groom.

The Bride was getting ready at a hotel, when I photograph a wedding I always start with the Brides detail photos such as her shoes, engagement ring, wedding bands, wedding dress and any details that are going to help me tell the story of the couples wedding day.

Once the Brides detail photos were taken I moved on to some staged images of her getting ready.  I asked the mother-of-the-bride to help her fix the back of her dress and asked the maid-of-honor to help the Bride with her veil.  While these images are “posed” in the fact that I asked them to stand by the window and asked them to fix the dress or veil, the moments that happen are totally real.  These are genuine candid moments that I love to photograph on wedding days.

After the bride and groom had their first look, we took them to a nearby beach to take a few create wedding photos of the couple together. I used her veil as leading lines to add a little creative flair to this image.

We then moved on to the venue, where I photographed the fun bridal party photos and traditional family portraits. These are must haves for any wedding album.

I wanted to give the couple a nice mix of styles when choosing images for their main wedding album. I photographed certain parts of the wedding in traditional style while others I photographed more creatively.

During their ceremony myself as well as the second photographer took many candid images of the Bride and Groom’s ring exchange, vows and first kiss as husband and wife.

Normally, after your ceremony you would go right into the cocktail hour, however the sun was setting and the sky was BEAUTIFUL! I asked the couple to give me 5 minutes to take some creative wedding photos of them with the sunset. These could be my favorite images of the entire wedding.

I used a mix of nature light and off camera flash to give them variety of looks in a short period of time.

Once these were completed they enjoyed the rest of the night with their friends and family while we took many candid images of their reception including their grand entrances, first dance, maid of honor and best man speech, cake cutting ceremony and parent dances.
